Our Service
Our Service starts at 10AM on Sunday, mid September thru mid May and is held in our Sanctuary, located on the second floor via a flight of stairs.  It runs about an hour in length, and is led by one of our guest pulpit speakers.  The service includes music, hymns, sharing of joys and sorrows, readings and a sermon.  On occasion, we have refreshments or Potluck lunch after the service in our Vestry, on the lower level.

Having guest speakers affords us to have an eclectic selection of speakers on the pulpit.  This selection includes a grouping of ordained ministers, semi-retired ordained ministers, Masters of Divinity, and Lay Persons.  Our speakers reflect on many topics drawn from the news, seasonal importance, personal, and biblical inspiration that will encourage us to look inward and outside ourselves in our daily lives.  The popularity of this is reflected by our increased attendance.

On the Second Sunday of the Month we have a guest musical performance in lieu of a sermon during our service.  Each musician or group will perform for about 20 minutes as part of the worship service.  This is a nondenominational service.  If you would like to do a performance or know someone else that would like to perform, please email or call us.

Flowers for Sunday Services – Placing flowers in the Sanctuary, on the altar, is a unique and tender way to celebrate a special occasion, mark an important milestone or remember a loved one.  If you and your family would like to provide flowers for a Sunday Service, please email or call the Church and leave a message with your name, date of service and the occasion or mark the flower calendar on the downstairs bulletin board.

We have a special Veteran's Day Service, a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 5PM on December 24th, and in the Spring, we have an Easter Service, and a Flower Communion Service where you are welcome to bring a flower to contribute/share during our service.

In December we also host a Pioneer Valley Brass Quintet Concert.  This organization came into being in the 1930's when the Quabbin Reservoir was to be constructed, and four towns were vacated and flooded to make the reservoir.  The First Universalist Parish of Dana established a trust fund to keep the memory of the town of Dana and their church alive.

Community Service Hours - The church is a great place to volunteer for Community Service whether you are required to perform service for school, or other reasons, or just want to get out and volunteer with a happy group of do-gooders.  We have arrangements with both QRHS in Barre and WRHS in Holden with all the correct paperwork to document your efforts. Email us or contact anyone on the Parish Committee for more information and please check out our Calendar where we will post most all of our volunteer opportunities.
